A Visitor's Guide to the American Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls are made up of three different waterfalls: Canada's Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and the small Bridal Veil Falls. Both the United States and Canada share Niagara Falls, with twin towns named for the natural wonder. In the US, the falls are located approximately twenty minutes from Buffalo. Although the waterfalls are not incredibly high at 176 feet, they are very wide and breathtaking to behold. If you're planning to visit American Niagara Falls, here are some travel tips to help you make your trip the best it can be.
The most important part of a vacation to the falls is visiting them up close, of course! The most traditional and enjoyable way to do this is on a boat tour aboard the Maid of the Mist. The Maid of the Mist is a ferry that takes passengers right up to the falls and has done so since 1864. In the United States, it costs $11.50 for adults to take a 20 minute tour. For children between the ages of six to twelve years of age, the cost is $6.75. Kids under the age of five accompanied by a parent get in free. A ride on the Maid is one of the least expensive yet most fun things you can do in Niagara Falls, New York!
You'll also want to head to Niagara Reservation State Park, which features gorgeous scenery, incredible hiking trails and a discovery center which teaches visitors more about the falls. When you're not enjoying the scenery or marveling at the falls, you can enjoy the fun and luxury of the many other attractions in the area. There are a multitude of fantastic restaurants and stores to visit, including Niagara Falls Prime Outlets, the place to find incredible bargains on all kinds of merchandise. If you're looking to enjoy some fun nightlife, American Niagara Falls does not disappoint!
