Types of Niagara Falls Tours

If you're interested in Niagara Falls tours, you're not alone! For ages, Niagara Falls has welcomed tourists from all over the world. Honeymooners, families and even celebrities have traveled to these massive waterfalls for hundreds of years. Niagara Falls consists of three different waterfalls: the American Falls, the Horseshoe or Canadian Falls, and the smallest waterfall called Bridal Veil Falls. There are two cities called Niagara Falls -- one in New York, and one in Canada.

There are a variety of different ways to see the falls. One way, of course, is by boat. The Maid of the Mist is a famous Falls touring boat which docks in both Canada and the United States. In 1846, the very first Maid of the Mist was built. Since then, passengers have included celebrities and even presidents! Jimmy Carter, Princess Diana of Wales and even Marilyn Monroe have taken a Maid of the Mist boat tour. And for less than $20, so can you! Many people think that a Maid of the Mist boat tour is the only way to truly appreciate the Falls. If you choose to visit the Falls this way, be sure to wear your raincoat because you just might get wet!

Perhaps you'd like to see Niagara Falls from the air. If so, then a helicopter ride is the ideal way! Most helicopter tours last around twenty minutes and take you over the Falls as well as the surrounding areas. You'll view amazing landmarks, gorgeous wine country and of course the majesty of the waterfalls from a vantage point high above. Both boat tours and helicopter tours are perfect for everyone from couples to groups. While your average boat tour is quite affordable, a helicopter ride can be a bit more costly.

Yet another way to see the Falls is by train. There are a wide variety of packages out there for anyone who wants to experience the beauty of the region, and the Falls, by railroad. Some railroad Niagara Falls tours last for days and include hotel accommodations and fun expeditions. As you can see, there are many different ways to visit Niagara Falls. To learn more about all the ways you can explore the Falls, talk to your travel agent. Still need more information?
