Niagara Falls: Helpful Tourist Information

Niagara Falls is one of the most popular attractions in the world today. There are actually three waterfalls that make up Niagara Falls -- the Canadian (or Horseshoe,) the American and the Bridal Veil Falls. This spectacular wonder is shared by both the United States and Canada. In New York, the Falls are about twenty minutes from Buffalo. In Canada, the Falls are about ninety minutes from Ontario. Both the United States and Canada boast a town called what else? Niagara Falls! Check out our tourist information below for tips on visiting both locations.

If you're a United States citizen heading to the Canadian part of Niagara Falls, you won't need a passport. It is advisable, however, that you carry some form of valid identification with you. In both Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Canada you'll find a wide variety of world-class accommodations that have everything a vacationing tourist could want. You'll soon discover that there's a lot more to enjoy than just falling water!

Of course, no trip to Niagara Falls would be complete without a visit to a waterfall or two. The most popular way to see the falls is on a boat tour aboard the legendary Maid of the Mist. Everyone from movie stars to world leaders have graced the Maid since it's inception in 1864. There are also incredible jetboat tours that get visitors close to the falls. Alternatively, you could take a helicopter sightseeing tour or even a leisurely railroad trip if seeing the falls by boat isn't your cup of tea.

When you're not checking out the breathtaking waterfalls, you can enjoy the rest of the fun and excitement the Niagara area has to offer. In the New York falls area you can shop til you drop at Prime Outlets at Niagara on Military Road. If you enjoy gambling, you'll find casinos on both the United States and Canadian sides. Also found in record numbers are chic restaurants and popular night spots. Another can't miss attraction is the Niagara Falls State Park, which boasts an aquarium, discovery center, observation tower and so much more. If you'll be heading to the falls in the winter, don't miss the Festival of Lights, a Canadian celebration with over 100 gorgeous illuminations up and down Niagara Falls parkway.

For more tourist information, contact your travel agent. You'll find many different packages for all kinds of vacationers in both the United States and Canada. Everyone from honeymooners to corporate groups can have the vacation of a lifetime at Niagara Falls!
